The ICU pharmacy group has an open position--overnight critical care clinical specialist (2100-0700, 7 on/7 off). The successful candidate will require independent decision-making, clinical judgement, and in-depth knowledge of critical care pharmacy. The overnight critical care pharmacy specialist will be responsible for covering all adult ICUs (Burn, Cardiac ICU, Cardiothoracic ICU, Medical ICU, Neurosurgical/Neuro ICU, and Surgical/Trauma ICU) as well as the inpatient ORs. The overnight critical care pharmacy specialist will work with physicians, nursing staff, and other pharmacists to maximize the benefits of drug therapies and minimize toxicities. The activities of the overnight critical care pharmacy specialist are diverse and will include, but are not limited to, medication therapy management, development of critical care pathways/protocols/polices, multidisciplinary education, and participation in emergency code response. Additionally, this position will participate with the University of Colorado School of Pharmacy precepting students. PGY-2 in critical care strongly preferred.

Ensures the appropriate selection, dosing, administration, and dispensing of medication orders in the Ambulatory Pharmacy.
Reviews and assesses medication orders to identify, prevent and resolve potential and actual drug related problems.
Recommends formulary alternatives when appropriate. Compounds and dispenses medications for retail sales.
Provides drug information and education to consumers.
Communicates with physicians and other clinicians as necessary to facilitate care.
Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited school of Pharmacy.
State licensure as a pharmacist.
