Our Float Pool gives you the opportunity to workin majority of our departments; Critical Care, Acute Care, Emergency Room, SurgicalServices, Women's and Infants, Pediatrics and more.
TheRN Float Pool Nurse is responsible for the delivery of patient care throughthe nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, andevaluation. Responsible for directing and coordinating all nursing care for thedepartment -specific patient population in accordance with the standards ofnursing care and practice as defined by Wesley Medical Center and the KansasNurse Practice Act. Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensureeffective and efficient patient care delivery and achievement of desiredpatient outcomes. Supports the organization vision and mission. Utilizesknowledge of patient's age and cultural diversity in the provision of patientcare. Contributes to the provision of quality nursing care through performanceimprovement techniques that demonstrate positive outcomes in patient care.

Current Licensure in the State of Kansas as a Registered Nurse (RN) orCurrent Multi-State Licensure as a Registered Nurse with the ability to obtaina Kansas Registered Nurse license within 90 days of start date
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) verification course, as specified in policy
Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) verification within allotted time frame, as specified in policy
NIH Stroke Certification
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
Successful completion of the Dysrhythmia Exam within allotted time frame, as specified in policy
Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing
2 years of previousnursing experience
PreferredEducation or Experience
Bachelor of Science in Nursing
Ability to utilize the nursing process in the provision of nursing care including, but not limited to, administering treatments and medications, interpreting diagnostic tests, formulating a plan of care, collaborating with other healthcare providers and providing education to patients and/or significant others
Ability to multi-task, delegate, and prioritize
Possess problem solving andcritical thinking skills
Ability to collaborate with other health care providers
Ability to educate patients and/or significant others
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively
Possess personal computer skills
Followsand maintains current evidence based and research driven nursing practices andquality measures including but not limited to:
Skin& Wound Care including prevention of pressure wounds
Meeting& Exceeding Core Measures as determined by National Standards
Proactivecare to reduce Catheter Acquired UTIs
Protectingpatient safety and being cognizant of Fall Risk and interventions to preventfalls
Utilizingrestraints safely as per hospital policy
Display competence in the following:
MediTechdocumentation including visual flow sheet
Arterialand Venous blood draws
