The Tele Tech performs duties in accordance with the philosophy, goal and objectives of Medical Center of Aurora. The Tele Tech monitors, documents and appropriately reports the patient’s cardiac rhythm and pulse oximetry as needed. The Tele Tech assists in maintaining and organizing tele equipment and the tele area. The Tele Tech may rotate to other than his or her home department and will perform only those duties for which he or she has demonstrated competency. The Tele Tech performs delegated duties consistent within their scope of practice. The patient population on the telemetry unit is adult and geriatric. The Tele Tech adheres to the HealthOne Standards of Behavior.
Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current BLS Certification
Experience: 1-2 years Telemetry skills and interpretation of rhythm strips preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Demonstrates good organizational skills. Performs order telemetry skills accurately within standards of practice. Displays appropriate judgment and problem solving skills. Communicates positively and professionally with all internal and external customers.
Degree of Supervision Required: Under supervision of the Department Director, Manager or designee.
Orientation Period: 2 weeks
