The Advanced Cardiac Center at P/SL isknown as a major heart hospital, recognized several times over the AmericanHeart Association for excellence and for its success in implementing a higherstandard of cardiac care that effectively improves treatment of patientshospitalized for heart disease. Position Summary: This position supports the mission ofPresbyterian/St Luke’s Medical Center of optimizing the quality of life of allthose served by expanding beyond the traditional focus on medical care to meetthe needs of the whole person. The Emergency Department RN overseesand directs the care of all patients presenting to EmergencyDepartment. Serves as primary nurse leading the collaboration of alldisciplines for well-coordinated patient care. Oversees and directsthe care of assistive personnel, maintaining final accountability for the caregiven to assigned patients. Within the first year the RN will havegained basic emergency and emergency department pathways, knowledge and skillsets. When the need arises, will perform other duties as assigned bysupervisor.

·Current licensure in theState of Colorado as a Registered Nurse
·BLS – Healthcareprovider, ACLS and PALS required upon hire.
·TNCC (Trauma Nurse CoreCourse) or equivalent and ENPC (Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course) requiredwithin 9 months.
·Graduate of anaccredited school of nursing. BSN preferred.
·One-year experience inemergent care preferred.
·Ability to communicateeffectively with patients, families, physicians, and other health care teammembers.
·Ability to manage a teamand work with others within a team to ensure quality patient care.
·Strong critical thinkingskills.
