Job Summary: Under minimal supervision, assists in developing and implementing initial training, future training and care team development programs for the assigned area(s). Conducts ongoing education for team and is responsible for assuring competency of the professional nurse and unlicensed personnel in the assigned area(s). Evidence of competency is reviewed and documented at least annually and is based on the most recent evidence and best practices. Leads the department's evidence-based orientation program. Adheres to the American Nurses Association (ANA) Nursing Administration Scope and Standards of Practice to provide leadership with the nursing process. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: 1. Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements. 2. Skilled in decision making regarding the appropriateness of care review, assist with research design planning, and collaborating with Nursing Manager on quality improvement reports. 3. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with other internal and external team members to ensure timelines are met. 4. Ability to act as a resource to the care team for clinical questions. 5. Able to effectively recruit, develop, and retain the care team.
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required. Master's degree highly preferred.
Experience: Three years of professional nursing experience required.
Credentials: Valid CO RN license or compact state license required. Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) from American Heart Association required.
