Under the general supervision of a radiologist, performs diagnostic interventional radiology (IR) examinations at the technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment, with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiographic diagnosis. Assumes responsibility for designated areas of procedures as required.
Education: Completion of a course of study in Radiologic Technology approved by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
Experience: Typically, two years of experience in radiographic procedures, including six months experience required performing IR procedure.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Knowledge of IR machines and related equipment. Knowledge of age specific needs of patients. Knowledge of IR procedures. Skill in data input. Communication, collaboration, cooperation and interpersonal skills. Ability to study and identify physician requests for radiologic procedures. Ability to exercise judgment in selecting and computing machine settings to compensate for patient variances. Ability to produce quality images of delicate anatomical structures
Associate's Degree (Required) Completion of a course of study in Radiologic Technology approved by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), required.
1. Registered Radiologic Technologist (RT) with ARRT, required.
2. BLS/CPR Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA), required.
