PositionSummary:This position supports the mission ofPresbyterian/St Luke’s Medical Center of providing compassionate and innovativecare for patients and their families through a commitment to excellence,collaboration, education, and integrity.The Pharmacy Resident is responsible exercising discretion andindependent judgment in the safe, effective, and cost-effective use of drugsthrough the application of specialized knowledge and skills gained duringpharmacy school. The Pharmacy Resident shall interpret andprocess physician orders, monitor drug interactions, allergies and drugincompatibilities, and perform the final check of medications provided forpatient use.The Pharmacy resident shallformulate a system for staying current with pertinent pharmacy, medical, andscientific literature and provide drug information and clinical services to allhealth professionals and patients. The PharmacyResident interviews, selects, and trains departmental employees, supervisespharmacy technicians/ interns, and delivers effective education usingappropriate techniques.The PharmacyResident demonstrates innovation in the operations of the Department ofPharmacy, thereby establishing a framework that meets the goals of patient careand departmental operations.When needarises, the Pharmacy Resident will perform other duties as assigned by theResidency Program Director.

A.Licensure/Certification/Registration:Application submitted to the Colorado Boardof Pharmacy as a registered Pharmacist.ACLS and PALS within first 12 months of employment.
B.Education:Pharm. D. or BS with equivalent experience required.
D.SpecialQualifications:Must have the ability to type and haveeffective oral and written communication skills and computer skills.Demonstrated skills commensurate with formaltraining.
Degreeof supervision required:Involves general guidance and direction bythe Pharmacy Residency Director.Employee will be expected to perform most job duties independently andin accordance with established departmental and hospital policies andprocedures.
