As an Infusion Nurse you know that every day is different, which is why you need to know how to:
Function in a fast-paced, service-oriented setting, responding to patient needs
Respond to and communicate professionally with patients, families, peers and providers as you perform your work
Be proficient with challenging IV starts and port access; Be familiar with PICC lines and Infusaports
Monitor biologics, immunotherapies, antibiotics, blood products and anticipate and allay side effects
Use of pumps for Infusions; computer charting system
IV therapy provided from age 12 to adults
Critical assessment skills
Educate patients and families on how they can mitigate treatment side effects for best quality of life
Follow hospital, regulatory and professional guidelines, policies and procedures
We hire people, not resumes. But we also expect excellence, which is why you need:
ASN/ADN or BSN from an accredited Nursing program, required
BSN required within 4 years of hire, unless you have a minimum of 15 years of proven, continuous, acute care RN experience, required
Current RN license to practice nursing in the state of Montana, required
Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association, required
Strong organization skills and attention to detail, required
Excellent IV skills, including experience with ports and central lines, preferred
