As an Instrument Tech you know that every day is different, which is why you need to know how to:
Operates and monitors sterilization equipment
Disassembles carts and follows Universal Precautions for decontamination
Sterilizes, disinfects durable medical equipment and instruments, packages clean supplies and instruments, maintains records for all instruments and transports sterilized items to the floor
Perform heavy lifting, pushing and pulling for a majority of the shift

High school or GED
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work a physically demanding position entailing heavy lifting, pushing and pulling for a majority of the shift.
Ability to work 2 weekend shifts in a 6 week schedule
