TheRegistered Nurse demonstrates knowledge and skills in the care ofpatients. Each service also requiresspecialized skills. The delivery of careis based on criteria that is age appropriate and is based on the physical,psychosocial, cultural, safety, and learning needs of the individualpatients. The usual patients admitted tothe Intensive Care Units include, but are not limited to, those aged 14 andabove who have undergone surgery and/or are in need of intensive monitoring andnursing practice. The Registered Nursemay be asked to float to areas other than his/her assigned service area, andwill perform only those duties for which he/she has demonstratedcompetency. Here is what you can expect being an IntensiveCare Unit Registered Nurse with us: - Youwill perform delegated duties consistent with the scope of practice andfunctions within the philosophy and overall plan of care at Rose MedicalCenter.
- You will perform andoversee care of patients with critical illness or injury utilizing the nursingprocess.
- PerformLab testing as assigned based on protocol of each test, documenting results andcommunicating criticals as defined. Complete competency as required.
- You will excel at the following skills,interpersonal, communication, leadership, time management, critical thinkingand decision making.
Whatare the needed qualifications of an Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse? - Graduate of anAccredited School of Nursing. BSN is desirable.
- Current ColoradoRegistered Nurse License with current BLS, and ACLS Certification through theAmerican Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Prefer1-2 years acute care and/or telemetry experience, however new graduates areconsidered.
- Demonstratesgood organizational skills. Providessafe, appropriate, and age-specific patient care within the Standards ofNursing Practice at Rose Medical Center. Displays appropriate judgement, problem solving and critical thinkingskills. Communicates positively andprofessionally with all internal and external customers.
