Under general supervision, coordinates environmental services activities for a given shift and area of responsibility in accordance with professional standards and guidelines as defined by departmental policies and procedures. Works independently with management direction and has direct responsibility over the custodians' operational work. Supervisor works with the scheduled staff to meet the needs of the hospital, clinics and outlying buildings within budgetary constraints. Supervisor assigns staff and other resources, reviews and documents the quality of the work performed, manages the staff, communicates and problem-solves with the customers and serves as the administrative liaison in the absence of a Director or Manager.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Education: High School diploma/GED. Experience: Typically one to three years of supervisory or lead experience in housekeeping or other support services. Knowledge about cleaning standards and cleaning agent use. Prefer experience in a health care setting. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Ability to communicate positively and effectively to a variety of staff and professionals. Skill in managing EVS employees. Organizational skills. Ability to work independently, multi-task and establish priorities. Exhibit initiative, responsibility, flexibility, and leadership. Ability to interpret and apply written and verbal guidelines and work practices to standardized work situations or specific cases. Able to work independently and coordinate several activities at the same time. Demonstrate progressive growth in the field of healthcare environmental services facility maintenance. ~None.
