The General Medical department at St. Anthony Summit Medical Center is a 16 to 26-bedblended unit meeting the daily challenges of caring for patients with a wide array ofmedical conditions. Our department specializes in ICU, intermediate care, medical surgicaland pediatrics. The average length of stay is 1.2 days, so patients turnover quickly on thisunit. The majority of patients are tourists and are dealing with the stress of injury while onvacation. We all have a variety of duties and wear multiple hats as we are a small hospital.We treat a wide variety of patients and are the only inpatient department in the hospital, soall patients come to this floor. We sometimes receive overflow for LDRP and we take careof postpartum moms and babies. Our team has an amazing culture of teamwork, highpatient satisfaction and sees a variety of patients. Census changes rapidly on the floor ifICU patients come in, so we are flexible. We work with limited resources, no transporters
and no IV team.

Job description:

Assumes responsibility and accountability for facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with both the healthcare team,and the patient/family to identify and meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of the patient. Promotes theoptimal health, well-being and safety of the patient through use of the nursing process and in accordance with patient carestandards, guidelines and the State Nurse Practice Act. Demonstrates personal accountability for relationship-based care,organizational mission, and core values.

• RN License required;Current state nursing licenses or RN license from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact,
  • Colorado Only: RNs working in Colorado under a multi-state license must obtain their CO RN license within 30 days of establishing residency, i.e., drivers license, register to vote, etc. Compact to Compact.Upon issuance of a new multistate license,the former license is inactivated. • Nursing Diploma or Associates Degree in Nursing required;Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required for new graduates, preferred for experienced RN's
• BLS from the American Heart Association required
• ACLS from the American Heart Association required
• • One year RN Med/Surg experience required
  • RN ICU experience strongly preferred
  • TNCC preferred
  • Nursing skills and knowledge base specific to specialty

  Physical Requirements -Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)

  Hours: 6:30pm-7am
