The Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) department at St. Thomas More Hospital is afour-bed unit and two RNs staff the General Medical ICU. We do occasionally havemed/surg overflow patients. Most of our patients are general critical care (resp, sepsis,post op complications, CHF, some cardiac). We do not have neuro, cardiology or inpatient trauma. Our department has great teamwork, autonomy and flexibility with elfscheduling. We are a very friendly and close-knit unit. Team members work well togetherand genuinely care about each other. We look for candidates that have strong clinicalskills, are resourceful, flexible, have good communication and values teamwork.

Job description:

Assumes responsibility and accountability for facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with both the healthcare team,and the patient/family to identify and meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of the patient. Promotes theoptimal health, well-being and safety of the patient through use of the nursing process and in accordance with patient carestandards, guidelines and the State Nurse Practice Act. Demonstrates personal accountability for relationship-based care,organizational mission, and core values.

**$15k bonus paid out over 2 years to new employees that have 1 year of ICU RN experience**

In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:

• RN License required;Current state nursing licenses or RN license from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact
• Nursing Diploma or Associates Degree in Nursing required;Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required for new graduates, preferred for experienced RN's
• BLS from the American Heart Association required
• ACLS from the American Heart Association required
• TNCC required upon hire or within 1 year
• PALS or ENPC required upon hire or within 1 year
• One year RN experience required
• Nursing skills and knowledge base specific to specialty

Physical Requirements -Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)
