Under general supervision, delivers safe and competent occupational therapy as ordered by a physician. Plans, organizes and implements specific treatment programs or individual patients according to the principles and practices of occupational therapy. Develops, improves, or restores skills in activities of daily living, work, or functional activities. Directs and supervises work of support personnel.
This role is eligible for shift differential when the majority of the hours worked fall in a night, weekend or evening shift.
This role is eligible for PRN/Intermittent differential.
Education: Bachelor's Degree or above in accredited Occupational Therapy Program. National Registration required.
Experience: Typically, one year experience in an occupational therapy/rehab setting.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities : Knowledge of theory, principles and practice of occupational therapy. Knowledge of safety principles in patient care environment. Knowledge of standards, policies and procedures of Denver Health as they pertain to occupational therapy. Ability to integrate requirements of the facility and/or regulatory agencies into clinical decisions and documentation. Ability to demonstrate competency for occupational therapy treatment methods, techniques and approaches per professional and agency standards. Ability to meet physical requirements of job classification (lift, pull/push, carry, transfer patients, etc.). Ability to abide by the ethical guidelines as outlined by the American Occupational Therapy Association.
Certifications and Licenses: National Certification required. Basic Life Support for Health Care Provider Certification/CPR.
