What you will do in this role:
You will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing the care of structural heart patients in the outpatient setting
You will act as a liaison with the physicians, patients/families and ancillary departments
You will assess the financial, medical, and social resources of current and potential structural heart program patients in conjunction with the research team
You will coordinate information flow among the medical, nursing, financial, and research staff appropriately
You will be responsible for development and implementation of teaching plan with the patient and family including medication overview, lab values, and diagnosis related information
You will perform direct patient care within the scope of the nurse practice act, as it applies to the outcomes of processes in the Wesley Structural Heart Clinic
What qualifications you will need for this role:
Current Kansas State Board of Healing Arts: Physician Assistant, or current Kansas State Board of Nursing: Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner
Bachelor of Science in Physician’s Assistant or Master of Nursing
Completion of ARC-PA approved Physician Assistant Education Program or Kansas State Board of Nursing approved Nurse Practitioner Education Program
Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association
Previous experience with program coordinator and development preferred
Previous experience in working with Critical Care/Valve patients preferred
