Ophthalmic Technician (Non Certification)- Eye Clinic

Job Summary Under general supervision, deliver patient care within scope of clinic expectations.
Responsibilities 1. Performs ocular examinations, including: history taking, acuity, ocular motility, alignment and intraocular pressure assessment, lensometry and refraction.2. Performs visual field testing, OCT, pachymetry, topography, biometry and ocular photography.3. Determines need/urgency of care based on patient information, medical record and presenting signs/symptoms.4. Provides post-operative instructions to patients.5. Provides explanations regarding prescriptions for medications and glasses to patients.6. Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Computers and Technology1. Proficiency in EMR, required.Certificates, Licenses and Registration1. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Provider Certification/CPR required.
Education * High School Diploma or GED (Required) Education and Experience1. H.S. diploma or GED required.2. One year experience as an Ophthalmic Technician, required.

Credentials * Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) from American Heart Association (Required) Certificates, Licenses and Registration1. Location Shift Work Type Pay Range Minimum: 19.08 Midpoint: 23.85 Maximum: 28.62 All job applicants for safety-sensitive positions must pass a pre-employment drug test, once a conditional offer of employment has been made.
