The Medical Intensive Care Unit at Longmont United Hospital is a Medical/Surgical ICU department with 16 beds. We see a variety of trauma patients (GI bleeds, post MI patients requiring support devices or medication) and anyone in need of critical care, we also provide house telemetry overflow as needed. Our department's mission is to foster evidenced-based knowledge and education advancement, delivering the best care to our

Job description:

Assists department director/manager/assistant nurse manager by coordinating clinical and department activities for theunit which may include shift charge. Ensures that care is delivered to each patient in accordance with quality standards. Actsas liaison between physicians and patient care team. Maintains communication and promotes cooperation with unit staffand other departments. Provides shift supervision to the staff. Collaborates with the director/manager/assistant nursemanager on coaching, mentoring and performance management. Promotes the optimal health, well-being and safety of thepatient through use of the nursing process and in accordance with patient care standards, guidelines and the State NursePractice Act. Demonstrates personal accountability for relationship-based care, organizational mission, and core values.

In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:

• One year of recent ICU nursing experience.
• Associate Degree in Nursing
• BSN required within 4 years of hire or transfer
• RN License required; Current RN license in applicable state of work or current RN license from a participating state in National Licensure Compact for eligible states
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association certification required
• ACLS required
• ANCC; National Nursing Certification ANCC approved is strongly preferred
• National Nursing Certification in Speciality Area (refer to facility addendum)
  • Credential: Nursing Spec

Physical Requirements -Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)
