You bring your body, mind, heart and spirit to your work as a Nurse Extern on our fast paced nursing units.  This is a per Diem position.

You are a student in good standing in an accredited school of nursing program having completed of a course in the fundamentals of nursing and pharmacology courses.

Your day

As a Nurse Extern, youâ™ll never know what to expect, but you will know how to:

• Respond to patient care needs by answering call lights, assisting patients with hygiene care and nourishment, obtaining vital signs, a communicating constructively, effectively and timely with members of the care team

• PIV insertion, maintenance and removal

• Venipuncture

• Foley Catheter insertion, care and removal

• Perform safe wound care

• Works under the direction of a RN

   

Your experience

We hire people, not resumes. But we also expect excellence, which is why we require:

• High School diploma, or the equivalent, required

• Current Montana CNA Registration, required

• A student in good standing in an accredited School of Nursing with completion of 2nd semester junior year of BSN program or are within one year of graduation from an ASN program.

• Completion of fundamentals of nursing and a pharmacology course, required

• Completion of all clinical coursework with the exception of final/capstone course.

• BLS certification within 60 days of hire, required
