As the System Risk and Patient Safety Manager you need to know how to:
Develop, coordinate, and administer systems for risk identification, investigation and reduction. Perform risk assessments in various MGPS clinics.
Develop, implement and monitor entity-specific risk management plan. Develop and monitor progress on annual entity-specific risk management goals. Collaborate with quality and clinical performance improvement teams in developing performance improvement plans, indicators and goals.
Act as Risk Manager and Patient Safety Manager for assigned locations, is responsible for the compliance with applicable regulations, including high level trending of patient safety events, reporting to the Patient Safety Executive Council and designated leadership and timely identification of safety events that require a response.
Contribute to the design and development of Clinical Risk Management and Patient Safety programs in coordination with system director of Risk and Patient Safety and system leadership.
Oversee the identification and review of potential Sentinel Events, collaborates with the Regional Quality leader and Clinical Performance Improvement team to conduct and complete required analysis and action planning.
Work collaboratively with the Risk Insurance and Legal department as needed to identify potential claims and resolution of patient requests.
Provide support to the Medical Group Physician leadership group in the implementation of safe practices as part of daily operations.
Collaborate with the care site and other stakeholders in responding to high risk complaints and grievances.
Develop/implement educational programs to reduce/eliminate potential hazards in the care sites.
Consider the financial implications, safety implications, and clinical outcomes when making recommendations, evaluating technology and products and developing policies and procedures
Collaborate with leadership and other stakeholders to enhance the regional structure to support planning, implementation, data analysis, change management and education related to evidence-based performance improvement activities.

Bachelor’s Degree in healthcare related field, required
Master’s degree or BSN, preferred
Experience in Risk Management in the Ambulatory Care setting, required
Minimum of 5-years clinical experience, required
2+ years of management / supervisory experience, preferred
Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) preferred and/or completed within 6 months after hire
Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) preferred and/or to be completed within 12 months after hire
