Your day.

As a Sterile Processing Supervisor, you need to know how to:

• Assist Manager with the development of departmental and staff goals.
• Manage human resources to assure quality services, scheduling, and promote positive employee relations.
• Direct Sterile Processing personnel in completion of job duties.
• Act as a role model for current and new staff.
• Be proficient in all sterile processing department job responsibilities.
• Act as an extension of the Sterile Processing Manager by performing selected duties as delegated by the Sterile Processing Manager.
• Utilize leadership tools in communication, including effective oral, written, and listening skills with staff, physicians, patients and families.
• Keep all appropriate parties informed in a timely manner and understand âœchain of command❠accountability.
• Support interventions that promote unit cost effectiveness to achieve budget.
• Collaborate with Manager and Coordinator to assess and hold staff accountable to hospital/unit competencies.
• Utilize applications and technology to accurately facilitate record keeping in accordance with State and Federal regulations.
• Provide on the job training (OJT) to recently hired associates in the department as needed.

Your experience.

We hire people, not resumes. But we also expect excellence, which is why we require:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in Sterile Processing

Preferred:

• Associateâ™s or Bachelorâ™s Degree
• Certified Registered Central Supply Technician (CRCST) or Certified Sterile Processing Department Technician (CSPDT) or Certified Surgical Technician (CST)
• At least two (2) years of experience in a hospital or clinic operating room
