Case Coordinator - Denver CARES

Job Summary: Under general supervision, assist individuals who are chronically homeless and abusing substances to develop the necessary skills and acquire the necessary resources to live independently. Begin working with clients while in residential substance abuse treatment and continue support as the client transitions into the community. Assist clients with obtaining benefits, employment and ultimately permanent housing. Occasional evening and week-end work might be required. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Knowledge of basic counseling skill; knowledge of community resources for homeless and low-income Denver residents; knowledge of research techniques (ability to effectively determine what information is needed and then gather and analyze desired information); able to use basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Outlook and database input. Education: High School or GED required. Bachelors Degree preferred. Experience: Typically two years of direct care experience with homeless and/or substance abuse populations required; previous case management duties in areas of long term, ongoing support and linking to other resources preferred. Certifications and Licenses: Colorado Drivers License, current insurance and reliable vehicle required. Certified Addictions Counselor (CAC) preferred.
