Position Summary:

Under the direct supervision of the Production Manager, Lead cook performs a variety of food service duties for patients, employees, medical staff and visitors.  The Lead Cook owns responsibility for assuring production items are prepared and readily available for the room service line.  Responsible for properly handling, preparing and serving food items for multiple service areas of the department.  The Lead Cook performs duties in accordance with all standards and policies of the Food & Nutrition Services Department and Rose Medical Center.

Qualifications

Position Requirements:

     A.      Licensure/Certification/Registration: None required

B.    Education: None required

C.     Experience: 2 years cooking experience required. Prior healthcare experience preferred

D.    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Must be knowledgeable in food handling, food safety and sanitation.  Must be familiar with a variety of types of food service equipment, copy machine and telephone.  Must be able to work in  hot, humid environment.  Must be able to read, write and speak English.
