The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Step-down department at St. Anthony Hospital is also calledthe Progressive Care Unit, a 16-bed unit providing step down/intermediate (IMC) providingcare to a variety of patients from all ICU specialties, ED and Med/Surg units. We have alarge cardiac/cardiac surgery population (ex. Watchmen, CABG, MVR/AVR, AAA repairpatients who may have chest tubes and external pacemakers) who transfer to the unit asearly as post-op day one and stay through their hospitalization. We admit a variety oftrauma patients and will also see strokes, TBIs, respiratory failure and medical patients.We have a great team who is fun and succeeds in a challenging environment. Ourdepartment is a great jumping off unit and is an area to learn and be challenged whileseeing a variety of patient populations.

Assumes responsibility and accountability for facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with both the healthcare team,and the patient/family to identify and meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of the patient. Promotes theoptimal health, well-being and safety of the patient through use of the nursing process and in accordance with patient carestandards, guidelines and the State Nurse Practice Act. Demonstrates personal accountability for relationship-based care,organizational mission, and core values.

• RN License required;Current state nursing licenses or RN license from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact,
• Colorado Only: RNs working in Colorado under a multi-state license must obtain their CO RN license within 30 days of establishing residency, i.e., drivers license, register to vote, etc. Compact to Compact.Upon issuance of a new multistate license,the former license is inactivated. • Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree in Nursing required;Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
• BLS from the American Heart Association required
• ACLS from the American Heart Association required
• NIHSS required
• One year RN experience required
• Nursing skills and knowledge base specific to specialty

Physical Requirements -Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)
