The Accountant Lead position is responsible for complex and/or confidential journal entries and audit adjustments. This role acts as a lead for Accounting Staff and works directly with Executive Management on projects as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Include the following. Others may be assigned.
Performs Financial Statement variance analysis to ensure Financial Statements are properly stated. Prepares complex journal entries including intercompany, statistical, consolidation, allocation, and audit adjustment entries
Assists accounting staff as needed with general ledger/financial statement inquires
Perform account reconciliations for complex or confidential accounts which could require detailed analysis including investment and deferred accounts
Investigates and resolve audit findings, account discrepancies and issues of non-compliance
Prepares revenue projections and forecasting expenditures
Special projects as assigned by Finance Management including combination of results directly with all levels of Conifer Management including Executive Management
Reviews backup and prepares audit schedules
Assist with documenting policies, procedures and workflows
Assists with month end close financial statements review and close ancillary schedules
Assists FP&A department with supporting requirements for budgeting and forecasting

Financial analysis and close oversight responsibility

Must be able to perform all tasks with minimal supervision
Some supervisory / lead experience preferred
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Include minimum education, technical training, and/or experience preferred to perform the job.
A minimum of a Bachelorâ��s Degree with an emphasis in Accounting or Finance
5+ years of Accounting experience including Financial Statements, SEC reporting and audit
Previous experience in Public Accounting
Include minimum certification required to perform the job.
