Assumes responsibility for developing, implementing & evaluating a program of education for department specific clinical population(s). Programming includes initial and ongoing staff competency, standardized department-based orientation for all applicable roles, and continued education as identified by needs assessments and regulatory requirement initiatives. Applies policies, procedures, standards, and regulations as appropriate to department clinical populations served. The education will be designed with department leaders, RN Educator- Specialist, and other key stakeholders to positively influence the quality and cost effectiveness of patient care.
What You Bring/Job Requirements
In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:
Bachelor Degree Required
Master Degree Preferred; Masters Degree in Nursing (MSN), Education, or other related graduate field of study preferred.
Three years of nursing experience relevant to clinical population served, (NICU)
4 years of clinical experience in level 3-4 NICU preferred
Experience with 24 week gestation infants and above preferred
1 year of Educator experience preferred
Staff development, academic teaching and/or project development experience preferred.
Knowledgeable in the use of Microsoft Office products and e-learning platform.
Registered Nurse State of Employment Required Or Current RN license from a participating state in National Licensure Compact
BLS, Basic Life Support, American Heart Association Required
Nursing Specialty Certification Preferred Additional certifications may be required per facility RN addendum. Professional certification preferred demonstrates progress in obtaining staff development certification within one year of meeting eligibility requirements
NRP must be obtained from American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), upon hire
STABLE cert upon hire/transfer or within 90 days
SCHEDULE: Position will be shared between Avista Adventist and St. Anthony North. Variable days and times
Physical Requirements: Medium Work - exert/lift up to 50 lbs. force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. constantly
