The Primary purpose of this position is to provide Health Care aid at the Health Care System VISN and facility levels. The position is responsible for delivering a broad array of health care services throughout the medical Center. MAJOR DUTIES - The Health Care Aid provides care to Veterans and staff at the COVID-19 screening stations which may be outside and/or inside buildings within the Asheville Health Care System to include the Health Care Centers (HCC) and Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) - Responsible for following infection control procedures - Performs a range of clinical support duties which may include taking vital signs, recording vital signs and reporting deviations to the RN - Maintains safe environment for patients, staff and visitors - Responsible for cleaning equipment (wheelchairs, etc.) Work Schedule: Full-Time 8am - 4:30pm Position Description Title/PD#: Health Technician (Temporary)/ 99917-A Physical Requirements: The work is primarily active and requires some standing, walking, bending, lifting, squatting and carrying of light items. The work requires above average agility and dexterity and may require heavy lifting of equipment or patients.
