Reliable and punctual attendance is essential; expected to be at job as scheduled each scheduled day.
Communicate necessary information to others as appropriate.
Complete daily routine assignments.
Work harmoniously with Physician and Clerical staff to meet all patient needs.
Demonstrate the ability and skill to provide medical assistance to patients at the direction of the Physician and within scope of care as it applies to medical training.
Assist with and/or performs routine duties that do not require a specific professional license.
Assist with transporting patient, within the facility, for x-ray, CT and/or lab services. Will assist with transporting patient to and from patient's vehicle.
Accurately and truthfully complete patient flow records in a timely manner.
Assist with transfers or admissions to other physicians or facilities.
Attend staff meetings and in-service education.
Other job related duties as assigned.
Assist Providers with accurate documentation of patient visits to facilitate a complete dictated clinic note representative of the assessment, diagnostics, treatment and plan of care for each patient visit.
Ensure accurate documentation including completion of all required hard copy forms, signatures, date, time and legibility of all documentation.
Possess skills needed to effectively perform scribe duties including a high level of typing proficiency, ability to process and document detailed information in an accurate and timely manner, knowledge and proper use of grammar, spelling, punctuation, and document proofing.
Practice effective interpersonal skills and work productively as a member of a team.
Greet patients/families by introducing self and maintaining eye contact.
Assist Providers and staff as needed with patient care including vital signs, medical history, allergies and current medications, meeting basic needs of patient, patient positioning, splint, and brace application, casting, crutch training; notifies Provider or RN of change in patient condition.
Assist with the flow of patients through the clinic. Update patients and staff, as appropriate, of delays or changes in the scheduling or provider orders.
Allow patients the opportunity to be involved in decision-making as appropriate.
Assist staff members with answering phone calls promptly and courteously and respond to requests and messages in a timely manner.
Take accurate messages, relay/forward messages to appropriate personnel, and refer callers to appropriate personnel as needed.
Adhere reliably to all accepted patient safety standards.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment of care and facilitates work flow of the clinic by maintaining open lines of communication, anticipating staffing and patient needs, and collaborating with colleagues to problem solve and meet the operational needs of the clinic.
Prioritize work load to meet the needs of patients and the clinic.
Participate in CQI activities as needed/requested.
Participate and contribute to unit meetings and activities.
Other job related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, LICENSE CERTIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
No professional license required.
Current Medical Assistant Certification and/or Registration required through an accredited organization (i.e. AMT, AAMA, NHA, etc.)
Current BLS Certification
Must have a minimum of six (6) months experience or related education in hands-on medical assisting duties. Medical scribe training and/or experience preferred.
Wage Range: $17.40 to $24.85
Immunizations required for employment, including COVID-19.
