Overview
This position is part of the procurement team to source and procure all medical and non medical supplies for all company facilities. The applicant must be able to adhere to contract pricing provided by Premier (GPO). Maintains vendor relations and promotes sound and ethical purchasing practices between the company and the vendor community by developing and maintaining positive vendor relationships based on mutual respect and trust. This position is responsible for inventory management and stock level control. Candidate should exhibit a positive attitude and have strong customer service skills.

Responsibilities
Helps to develop and manage the relationship with contracted vendors. Assists in the review and analysis of all medical products to generate greater cost savings. Participates in the appropriate Standardization Committee(s). Oversees and maintains current inventory. Acts as a knowledge resource for Foundation Health contracts and Premier contracts where applicable. Works to promote standardization and utilization efforts. Acts as a resource for product and vendor information for the facilities-based staff. Works closely with assigned departments to understand and meet their needs regarding product specification and selection. Facilitates orders for routine and specialty supplies and creates vendor purchase orders via Electronic Data Interface (EDI), telephone, internet, email and fax. Works with Support Staff to process orders. Provides technical training to end users and associate buying staff concerning all aspects of procurement. Locates product and vendor information sources products and suppliers. May be considered a procurement system super-user. Works under limited supervision. Procures all medical supplies in assigned area for all company facilities to include finding substitutes for back ordered products.Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards. Provides all customers of Foundation Health with an excellent service experience by consistently demonstrating our core and leader behaviors each and every day.
Qualifications
Two (2) or more years of advanced education and training in Procurement, Business and/or
Healthcare Resource certification.
Requires two (2) or more years of related supply chain and purchasing experience, including
experience with health care and capital equipment purchasing and contract negotiation. Must have excellent communication skills with a thorough understanding of purchasing concepts. Must be able to interpret and analyze products needs and to work under strict time constraints and have the ability to prioritize difficult tasks.
Requires excellent verbal, written and interpersonal relations skills. Requires accounting and
mathematical skills and able to conduct value analysis as needed.
Must be able to work effectively with all common office software, and be able to manage data and reports.
Experience with Excel, data mining and/or data analytics.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with/knowledge of medical products is strongly preferred.
