St. Vincent Healthcare is part of SCL Health, a faith-based, nonprofit healthcare organization that focuses on person-centered care. Our 286-bed level II trauma center has provided care in Montana and the surrounding area since 1898.
Our Ortho Medical Trauma unit has 45 beds with 18 beds dedicated to total joint replacement patients and 27 beds designated for general orthopedic, orthopedic trauma spine and M/S patients. We are a busy unit with short length of stay performing over 1300 joint replacements and increasingly complex orthopedic trauma cases.15 of our RNs are NAON certified, and more are encouraged to complete the process to provide the best care to our patients. Our comprehensive care team (orthopedic surgeons, hospitalists and therapists) provides in-depth training to our staff and are great partners in care. The unit is beautifully set up with modern equipment and décor.

Your day.
As a Clinical Supervisor â“ Ortho Medical Trauma Nurse you know that every day is different, which is why you need to know how to:
- Adapt to quickly changing dynamic situations calmly and effectively
- Oversee daily clinical operations of the department; patient advocacy/safety and satisfaction, regulatory compliance, core measures, staff scheduling, and patent/bed flow activities
- Perform staffing daily assignments to ensure a comprehensive skill mix and acuity level and ensure productivity goals are met
- Assist in payroll processes as directed by the manager
- Assist in orientation and evaluation of new hires
- Serve as mentor and role model for staff and students
- Assist Nurse Manager with human resource activities such as interviewing, hiring, coaching, mentoring, disciplining and evaluating staff.
Your experience.
We hire people, not resumes. But we also expect excellence, which is why we require:
- ASN from an accredited program, required
- Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years of hire unless you have a minimum of 15 years of proven, continuous, acute care RN experience, required
- Current RN license to practice nursing in the state of Montana
- Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association, required
- Minimum of two (2) years of inpatient RN experience, required
