With this position, you are eligible to participate in the At Risk Compensation (ARC) Plan. This plan enables SCL Health to provide leaders with an additional performance compensation opportunity. The ARC Award opportunities are calculated as a percentage of your base salary. Awards are paid out based on attainment of selected SCL Health Board-approved goals. Your day
The nursing director exhibits transformational leadership qualities with well communicated strategic vision that supports the Professional Practice Model, through sound business strategies, caregiver support, patient advocacy and organizational stewardship.
The Nursing Director will need to know how to:
Evaluate and effectively advocate for resources that support the nursing process of assessment, planning, and outcome evaluation.
Responsible for ensuring the departmental goals align with SCL Health and care site strategic goals.
Provide direction and oversight for the operations of one or more departments.
Effectively manage financial and human resources for optimal patient outcomes.
Develop and execute on emergency preparedness plans.
Ensure development of educational programs to foster workforce competencies and development goals.
Participate in the development of and execute on operational objectives, goals, and specific strategies to achieve strategic outcomes.
Develop and evaluate recruitment, retention, and onboarding strategies.
Develop and implement performance improvement projects to improve the work environment and/or patient care quality.
Provide leadership in the evaluation, execution, and adoption of information systems and technology.
Your experience

Bachelor of Science degree in nursing (BSN), required
Masterâ™s degree in nursing, healthcare administration, or business (or ability to obtain in three to five years), required
Doctorate in nursing practice (DNP) or PhD, preferred
Current license to practice in the state of assigned position (or ability to obtain license), required
Professional certification or willingness to obtain certification within 18 months, required
Minimum of three years of nursing leadership in an acute care environment, required
Experience leading in a Magnet or Pathways designated organization, performance improvement processes/tools (e.g. High Reliability Organization, Lean, IHI), preferred
Nursing experience in Womenâ™s Health, preferred
