Summary:
Coordinate the routine activities of the medical education skills lab, teach and evaluate students/residents in the lab setting, maintain the lab environment, and support the development and maintenance of the simulation lab curriculum. Serve as a faculty and student/resident resource for advanced technology utilized throughout the curriculum.
Other information:
·At least 2 years¿ experience in healthcare simulation as an educator or simulation technician.
·Technical diploma, associate degree or specialized training in technology or health related field is required.
·Master¿s degree in Curriculum Development, Education, Healthcare Administration or related field preferred.
·Familiarity with PC platforms with experience in MS Office and the ability to learn additional software programs, including audiovisual and computerized simulation equipment.
·Knowledge of operation of standard audio-visual equipment: projectors, microphones, portable screens, media players, etc.
·Knowledge of medical terminology and human anatomy/physiology.
·Ability to work independently and pay close attention to detail.
·Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including written and verbal, problem solving, diplomatic handling of problems of a sensitive and/or confidential nature.
·Strong leadership skills and qualities.
Responsibilities:
Works collaboratively with faculty to design, plan, implement, and evaluate simulation education lab activities which support student/resident learning outcomes.
1.Coordinates with faculty to develop scenarios and experiences with simulation to support integration throughout the curriculum
2.Sets up rooms for scenarios including equipment, supplies, and moulage for simulation activities as directed by faculty.
3.Provides pre-brief for sessions when appropriate.
4.Serves as the simulation operator by programming, testing and running scenarios with faculty.
5.Maintains equipment and supplies needed for learning.
6.Adheres to policies and procedures for the lab, including standards of practice regarding the use of simulation technology and safety policies.
7.Networks with other lab/simulation specialists to develop and utilize best practices.
Coordinates Simulation Lab usage with the School of Nursing.
1.Works collaboratively with School of Nursing Team Members to organize the simulation lab for use by the Center for Medical Education.
2.Works collaboratively with Center for Medical Education Faculty and School of Nursing Faculty/Team members to develop scenarios for Interprofessional Education opportunities.
Plans, implements, and evaluates the use of technology throughout the curriculum.
Plans, implements, and evaluates theory content.
Assists in assessing need, care, maintenance, and use of laboratory equipment, supplies, and facilities.
Requests supplies and equipment as needed.
Demonstrates leadership and role modeling skills.

Attends and participates in Center for Medical Education and Beebe Healthcare committees/programs.
Attends and participates in Center for Medical Education and student activities.
Attends twice a year Simulation Meeting.
