Department: IT - Network Security FTE: 1.00 Full Time Shift: Days
Position Summary: Responsible for the creation, implementation and support of the network infrastructure, network security and cyber security functions of UNM Health and Health Sciences. Develop and maintain a structure and process for strategic decision-making, oversee periodic review and updates of strategic priorities and translation into actionable plans. Ensure that system and technology solutions are in alignment and updated appropriately with the current architectural and national security standards. Work collaboratively with all operational partners to support initiatives in a secure environment. Manage network infrastructure, network security and cybersecurity. Ensures adherence to Hospital and Departmental Policies and Procedures. No patient care assignment.
Detailed responsibilities: * DIRECTION - Direct activities of the department and/or programs in accordance with Hospitals policies and objectives * SUPERVISION - Develop efficient organizational structure, supervise employees - select, terminate, train, educate, correct deficiencies, perform appraisals, issue discipline, counsel, schedule work assignments; encourage staff teamwork and growth initiatives * BUDGET - Assist in the management of budgets for the responsible area * NEEDS ANALYSIS - Communicate with individuals to understand user needs, and communicate this to appropriate systems and personnel * GOVERNANCE- Participate relevant governance and change control committees * SYSTEMS - Coordinate the analysis of data gathering and consider all available solutions or alternate solutions defining and proposing recommendations for implementation of application system and inter-system communications enhancements * CONFIGURATION - Prepare and approve policies, standards and direction for system configuration * NEEDS ANALYSIS - Communicate and collaborate with technical and non-technical personnel to understand and define user needs, gather and analyze data and recommend solutions * COMMUNICATION - Communicate with technical and non-technical personnel on systems issues to understand and respond to user needs * PROJECTS - Work on projects on an as needed basis * TECHNOLOGY - Design, procure and implement advanced products and technologies in collaboration with others; initiate activities encouraging and assisting the integration of available technologies * DEVELOPMENT - Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, reading current literature, attending in-services, meetings and workshops * LIAISON - Serve as a liaison for assigned area; coordinate activities in collaboration with other staff professionals, divisions, departments and organizations; may chair steering committees * STAFF - Provide mentoring and training to staff on IT related technologies
