The Surgical Technician performs the duties of Scrub Technician as specified in the procedure manual and is responsible for instrumentation, supplies and equipment. This person provides a safe environment for the patient.Minimum RequirementsAble to report to the hospital within 30 minutes during after hours surgical call when requested. Possesses good manual dexterity and ability to execute detailed technical procedures. Able to communicate appropriately verbally and in writing to patients, visitors and staff. Able to work well with others. Able to support patients weighing 150+ lbs., lift supplies weighing 40+ lbs. Able to organize and prioritize the multiple demands of the position. Able to move about the facility freely. Able to identify occupational hazards and use safety precautions.Education/Licenses/CertificationsGraduate from an accredited Surgical Technician program, or an LPN, or a lay person who has been taught by a well-planned, organized, on the job program in a health care facility. Current CPR card required.
