About the PositionFacilitation of individual and group therapy sessions and assessments that are relevant to the office of Adjunctive Therapies. Expectations are that assessments and EMR notes be done in a timely manner. The adjunctive therapist is involved in the planning and implementing of activities and therapeutic sessions for all interested patients. Group and individual sessions can be conducted on the adult psychiatric units or in the Rec Room. The psychotherapist performs interventions that meet the need of the client and group.Position Functions and ResponsibilitiesTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Facilitates individual and group adjunctive therapy sessions.
Observes, assesses, records, and communicates patient behavior.
Charts patient participation and progress in groups in patients' electronic medical record - Sigmund under Group Note.
Therapist must be able to work comfortably with electronic medical records in a timely fashion.
Creating a safe environment in which patients are encouraged and supported in activities that promote increased responsiveness, improve self-esteem, enhance cognitive/behavioral functioning, skill building, psychotherapy and appropriate social skills. When there is no group interest, therapist will provide individual therapy to receptive patients and patients discussed with the team for appropriate interventions.
Meet with Director of Adjunctive Therapies on a regular basis to report on group activities and experiences, and any needs or questions pertaining to patient care.
Utilizes clinical supervisor and collaboration with treatment team for best outcomes of patient care coordination and department success.
Give director recommendations on which patients might benefit from an adjunctive therapies assessment based on their best clinical judgment.
Completes Adjunctive Therapies assessment as directed by accrediting bodies.
Attend all trainings and meetings that the hospital has deemed imperative in keeping up with the standards of good care.
Educated in Trauma Informed Care and respectful of patients' experiences.
Supervise and oversee master level psychology interns.
Treatment Planning as indicated - including assessing, developing an individualized treatment plan, and providing high quality psychotherapy and quality of care for patients.
Performs other job duties as assigned.Position Requirements
Master's Degree in Psychology, social work, or related field.
Experience with many forms of therapeutic interventions.
Must be a certified counselor in the state of Washington; must have current first aid and CPR training.
Knowledge of principles and techniques of group and individual therapy, and experience in facilitating groups. Understanding of principles and methods of intervention.
