National Jewish Health is looking for a skilled and dedicated Journeyman Painter to enhance the beauty and functionality of our campus. This role is essential in maintaining the aesthetic and structural integrity of our facilities.

Position Summary
Performs the necessary steps in the preparation, patching, restoring, and painting walls throughout National Jewish, following industry standards as well as standards established by the department. Works closely with the Journeyman Painter, listening, learning, and assisting the Journeyman with highly skilled tasks of restoring all surfaces including but not limited to wall protection, caulking, custom furniture, flooring, ceilings, and fire walls.
Essential Duties
Listens and communicates effectively with the Lead Journeyman Painter of the paint shop on a daily basis to understand assignments and schedules to meet needs of the campus.
Assists Journeyman Painter with all projects assigned to the paint shop to include but not limited to: tape, patch, finish, sand drywall, prime and paint interior walls and ceilings, mask, and caulk exiting walls as well as new walls learning the techniques from the Lead Journeyman Painter.
Prepares and finishes surfaces, including the mixing and matching of colors and finishes and application of paints, stains, epoxy coating, vinyl wall coverings, and drywall finishing compounds, using accepted journey-level trade methods.
Assists in scheduling work with clients, and assists in preparation of specifications.
Installs rubber base, ceiling tiles and assists with installing wall protection, using the techniques and procedures taught by the Leaf Journeyman Painter as well as the Carpentry Supervisor.
Assists with the fire wall inspection and repair program which includes working on ladder up above ceilings in finished areas.
Cleans and maintains all paint shop tools and equipment, keeping the paint shop neat, clean, and organized, with the various paint colors and supplies in their proper places and properly marked containers (that he or she uses on a daily basis).
Communicates verbally and writes down needed supplies IE: any paints, and/or paint shop supplies that are running low, as well as any damaged tools or equipment that need to be repaired or replaced.
Responsible for filling out work orders for projects assigned to this position with all necessary information and especially material used.
Other Duties
Fills in for the Lead Journeyman Painter when away from the campus working closely with the Carpentry Supervisor on work orders or projects.

Education:High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Work Experience:A minimum of 4 years of painting experience required, of which 6 months (of the 4 years) must be in the commercial field. Journeyman level skills in wall finishing of which some must be from the commercial field.
Special Training, Certification or Licensure:Current Colorado driver’s license required.
