Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: As part of the transport service, World class care starts with you. Team members must have the skill to work in a fast-paced and changing environment.

Current, valid EMT certification with LA expanded scope of practice required

California Ambulance driver’s certificate required

Medical examiners certificate required

BLS through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required

Must have excellent physical assessment skills, comprehension of medical terminology, reading and writing in standard English, and speaking clearly and concisely to convey information to patients, families and healthcare teams during the transport process.

Ability to perform and pass all physical work requirements of the UCLA Health physical agility test pertaining to the transport of patients while using correct body mechanics including lifting, pushing and pulling. Required to operate transport medical equipment including gurney, oxygen tanks, automatic defibrillator. Ability to accept new responsibilities and work collaboratively with team members is essential.
