The Departments of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine and Emergency Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin are seeking a full-time Emergency Psychiatrist Faculty Member to join their team.
The successful candidate will provide patient care, teach fellows, residents, and students, and engage in scholarly and community-based activities to promote the missions of the institution.
This role will primarily focus on Emergency Psychiatry at Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin, with a primary appointment in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine and a secondary appointment in the Department of Emergency Medicine.
The recruit will work closely with Emergency Medicine faculty members, residents, social workers, and nurses to evaluate, treat, stabilize, and aid in the disposition of patients in the Emergency Department presenting with acute psychiatric complaints.
Teaching opportunities include accredited residency programs and the Medical College of Wisconsin, and there will be involvement in research related to Emergency Psychiatry.
This position follows a flexible 8-hour shift model with limited weekend and holiday coverage. Reporting directly to the Chairs of the Departments of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine and Emergency Medicine, the successful recruit will have the opportunity to shape the vision and goals for Emergency Psychiatry at the institution.
MD/DO degree required
Board certified or board-eligible in Psychiatry
Eligible for Wisconsin medical licensure
Experience or interest in Emergency Psychiatry
Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
