We are seeking a CLINICAL NURSE II in our Duke Infusion Cary Clinic located in Cary, NC to be an integral member of the healthcare team and provide direct and indirect care to patients.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Plan, provide and document professional nursing care utilizing Maestro Care. Document nursing care provided and communicate appropriate nursing action taken and patient response to infusion in accordance with physician orders, policies and therapy plans.
Administer infusion medications to patients as ordered by providers or by established protocols following the six rights of medication administration.
Assess patient throughout infusion and post monitoring for any signs/symptoms of infusion reaction and treat appropriately.
Obtains IV access; Performs blood draws for labs as needed.
Review's patient therapy plan for present orders and valid authorization weekly.
Perform patient education when needed.
Stock and maintain inventory of patient care supplies.
Mix and prepare infusion medications under protocol.
Identifies clinical, operational and safety related performance improvement opportunities, make recommendations for nursing care plans and participates in performance improvement projects.
Other duties as delegated by nurse manager, provider, or health center administrator
Maintain clinical environment to meet JCAHO and OSHA regulations.
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
Job Eligibility Requirements:
Work requires graduation from an accredited BSN or Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program. All registered nurses without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or higher) will be required to enroll in an appropriate BSN program within two years of their start date and to complete the program within seven years of their start date.
Twelve months of appropriate clinical experience is required.
NC RN license is required. If candidate has another compact state RN license, NC state licensure must be obtained within 90 days of hire
Job Hours:
The schedule for this position is day shifts, Monday-Friday, with no weekends or holidays.
