Job Description
The Opportunity:
Saint Luke's East Hospital is currently hiring an Inpatient Pharmacy Technician for Evenings and Weekends.
This position will give you a lot of variety in your work each week. You will assist with filling automated dispensing cabinets and delivering medications to various units within the hospital. You will have the opportunity to perform IV Sterile Compounding, Unit Dose Packaging, Fill First Doses and assist with Medical Storage. This is a customer facing position where you will support various hospital staff members and process requests.
Shift Details: Part-time 20 hours per week / 1:30pm-10:00pm, and an every other weekend commitment of Saturday and Sunday. Varying hours but all are 8 hour shifts. Schedule includes working evenings during the week and every other weekend.
The Work:
- Pick, fill and deliver medication orders and Omnicell stock to appropriate locations
- Fill first doses for new orders for patients
- Prepack drugs and compound medications including sterile products, chemotherapy, and special dosage forms (topicals, oral liquids, etc.)
- Assist with maintaining stock supplies in pharmacy department as needed
- Answer the phone/ front window, and assist with questions and requests
- Attend all department and technician meetings
- Complete projects as needed that improve service and/or safety
We are seeking a patient focused, detail oriented, professional with a passion for healthcare. To be successful, you must enjoy working with an engaged team completing challenging work. This position will require you to work on your feet most of your shift and work autonomously. Pharmacy Tech experience is preferred, but not required.
