SUMMARY: Neonatal ICU, Mother-Baby, Labor & Delivery, Lactation, and Perinatal Education departments, With 150-200 deliveries a month, two ORs for cesarean sections, and an average daily census of eight NICU babies, our units are busy, fast-paced, and offer the opportunity to provide specialty and critical care in a collaborative and supportive environment.Our hospital has earned the Advanced Certification in Perinatal Care from The Joint Commission, setting us apart in the community as a leader in maternal and neonatal care. We work closely with Childrens Mercy neonatology specialists who staff our NICU and delivery team 24/7, as well as respiratory care and other specialists, to provide the best possible outcomes. SUMMARY: Under direction of the department nurse director, provides care to the obstetrical and neonatal patient during the postpartum phase of pregnancy. During the post-partum phase, provides assessments and care of the postpartum patient and neonate, provides education to the mother on care, feeding and security of the infant. Assures that the patient and infant are prepared for discharge. EXPERIENCE: One year of labor and birth or mother-baby care preferred. OTHER: Basic Computer Skills. BCLS and NRP required within 6 months of hire. LICENSE/CERT: Required: RN (Registered Nurse) State of Missouri, BLS (Basic Life Support) from AHA (American Heart Association) Preferred: NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) EDUCATION: Required: Associates - Nursing, Preferred: Bachelors - Nursing
