The role you’ll contribute:
Under the supervision of the VP/Chief Nursing Officer, provides direction of the respiratory care department. Maintains accountability for policy development, orientation of new staff, scheduling, and staffing. Evaluates work performance of employees.Coordinates and provides educational activities for the complete respiratory care department and nursing staff as appropriate. Develops performance improvement and adheres to all governing regulatory bodies such as Department of Health, DNV, AHCA, OSHA, etc. Supervises and participates in the daytoday operation of the respiratory care.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
Administration of medically prescribed medications, knowing their indications and contraindications.
Knows and follows the indications and contraindications, the policy and procedures in administering therapeutic modalities to include:PAP, IS, USN, HHN.
Sets up and monitors oxygen administration.
Sets up oxygen cylinders and assures proper usage and safety measures are in place.
Performs bedside spirometry tests.May be requested to perform test in PFT lab following adequate training and/or orientation.
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
Required Qualifications:
Five (5) years acute care hospital experience required.
Graduate of an AMA accredited 2-year (AS degree) Respiratory Care Program
Must possess current state license: Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) or (RRT) upon hire
CPR required upon hire
ACLS required upon hire
NRP upon hire or within three (3) months of employment date
PALS upon hire or within three (3) months of employment date
Preferred Qualifications:
BS Preferred
