Prepare endoscopy suites with appropriate sterile supplies, instruments, and functioning equipment.
Assist physicians during procedures such as colonoscopies, EGDs and other endoscopic procedures.
Clean, disinfect, and sterilize endoscopes and related instruments in compliance with hospital infection prevention policies and manufacturer guidelines.
Maintain and troubleshoot endoscopic equipment, promptly reporting malfunctions.
Monitor and support patent comfort and safety under nursing supervision.
Accurately document scope usage, cleaning logs, and equipment tracking.
Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked work area.
Adhere to hospital policies, safety standards, and HIPAA regulations at all times.
Qualifications
Certification as a GI Technician, Surgical Technician, or Medical Assistant - preferred.
minimum of 2 years experience in endoscopy and sterile processing - required.
Knowledge of infection control, equipment sterilization, and patient care protocols.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to stand for extended periods.
Manual dexterity to handle instruments and equipment.
