Are you a dedicated Hospitalist passionate about providing high-quality, inpatient care to Veterans in a dynamic teaching environment? The VA Caribbean Healthcare System (San Juan VA Medical Center) is seeking Board-Certified Hospitalists (Internal Medicine) to join our team in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Serve as the primary consultant for the Emergency Department (main role).
Manage medical step-down units (in-person).
Cover hospital wards (less frequent) and lead rapid response teams 24/7.
Predictable Schedule:
10-hour shifts, 4 days per week (24-hour practice coverage).
Structured yet flexible to ensure work-life balance.
Who We’re Looking For:
Board-Certified in Internal Medicine or Hospital Medicine (required).
Experience in inpatient/acute care settings (preferred).
Fluent in Spanish (essential for patient care).
Strong teamwork & leadership skills—must thrive in a teaching hospital environment.
