JOB SUMMARY
The Medical Assistant, Certified functions as an integral member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team in providing direct patient care. The Medical Assistant, certified performs routine administrative and patient care supportive duties in a Health System medical practice that assist medical and/or nursing staff in the examination and treatment of patients and ensure the clinic/office runs smoothly
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Room Patients and intake to include medications, history and vital signs. Complete orders as per provider:
Uroflow and bladder scans.
Urine samples - POC and send to lab s Suture/Staple removal
Foley Catheter insertion
Rooming includes Pediatric Surgery and Weight Loss clinic as assigned by manager.
Prepare and assist with procedures
Cystoscopies
Vasectomies
Prostate Biopsies
Assist with Nurse Visits - to include: order entry and chart review.
Monthly Catheter and SPT changes
Uroflow/PVR
Intermittent catheterization teaching
Catheter irrigation
In basket messages - to include:
Calling patients with results
Cardiac clearance
FMLA/Work excuse
Prior Authorizations, Home Health, Medical supplies
Review future clinic schedules, call patients for upcoming appointments and procedures
Hight Level disinfection, Trophon and instrument sterilization
Clean and stock rooms. Monitor for supply and medication expirations dates. Unbox ordered supplies and confirm delivery amounts.
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein
JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Graduation from accredited Medical Assistant program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) strongly preferred.
High school or GED graduation required.
Certification by AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCMA or ARMA required. Please specify on resume which certification you have, certification number, and expiration date.
BLS required
