In this role, you will continuously observe ECG monitors, recognize arrhythmias, and promptly notify nurses and physicians of any changes in heart rate or rhythm. You will obtain and document rhythm strips, collect baseline strips each shift, and ensure monitoring equipment is functioning properly. You will also replace electrodes, wires, and batteries as necessary, maintain emergency equipment readiness, and clean machines according to hospital infection control standards.
You’ll work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced hospital environment, using strong communication skills and sound judgment to support safe, high-quality patient care.
You are qualified to apply if you have the following:
High school diploma or GED
Successful completion of a Rhythm Recognition course – Required
Demonstrated experience as a Telemetry Technician – Required
Ability to recognize myocardial infarction and arrhythmia – Required
Basic computer literacy and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience
Experience operating cardiac monitors and telemetry monitoring systems – Required
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
Strong telemetry interpretation skills and excellent interpersonal communication
