San Luis Valley Health is seeking an experienced HR Manager to support the organization’s Director in managing all day-to-day operations in support of fulfilling the organization’s vision, mission, values, and Magnet for Excellent People strategy and tactics. The Manager will be oversee administration of all the facility's benefit programs, leave of absence, and worker's compensation programs, and provide indirect support to SLVH’s recruitment and retention programs and navigating employee relations. This position will help direct and oversee the functions of the HR Assistants and Generalists ensuring consistent application of identified HR services, policies, and programs for the organization.
What You'll Have:
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business or related field.
At least 7 years experience in HR and/or business management position. Supervisory and/or experience managing complex departments and organizational functions preferred.
HR Certification desired.
Strong inter-personal, verbal, written, and critical thinking skills.
Role requires flexibility in schedule, with some night and weekend work required to help address staff/department needs.
Position is complex, demanding, and fast-paced requiring excellent stress, resiliency, and time management skills.
Successful candidate must be proficient with Microsoft Office products. Experience with ADP, Healthstream, and other business/HR-related software programs preferred.

What You'll Do:
Manages the administration of health and welfare benefit programs at SLV Health. Administers annual Open Enrollment. Ensures accurate record keeping including implementation and maintenance of an organized process for enrolling employees eligible in the plan.
Coordinates and leads discussions and meetings on negotiations and follow-up with benefits consultants and providers engaging the HR Director and/or Senior Team as needed.
Ensures proper recordkeeping and processes to respond to annual auditing and 5500 reporting.
Maintains departmental reports and records; oversees the preparation of reports and benefit statements according to State and Federal compliance requirements; gathers data and prepares IRS and other reports for employees, administrative, and regulatory requirements.
Works closely with Director to identify and facilitate strategies aimed at improving employee engagement and organizational culture (i.e., onboarding, training and development, stay interviews, employee engagement surveys, etc.)
Manages the organization’s FMLA and leave of absence programs.
Manages claims filing, employee treatment, and employees’ return to work program under the worker’s compensation program. Also leads the Employee Safety Committee, claims investigations, and the employee safety budget, including the purchasing of approved equipment.
Attends meetings and participates on organizational committees as required.
Provides indirect supervision of HR Assistants and Generalists directing work as needed and reporting outcomes and/or concerns to Director.
Researches functions of HRIS system available to upgrade and/or enhance current services and applications available to leaders and the HR team.
Develops and deploys training to leaders on HR-related areas.
