LOCATION: John H. Stroger Hospital - DERMATOLOGY - PART TIME (8 Hours Weekly)

The Consultant Physician will be working in the outpatient clinic for the Division of Dermatology. Additional responsibilities include participation as an educator in residency training program.
Work-up, diagnose, provide consultation for or refer to health care providers, and provide appropriate medical and procedural treatment to patients with problems related to this specialty.
Qualifications- Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy Medicine (D.O.) from an accredited college or university
- Licensed as a Physician in the State of Illinois in good standing prior to starting employment
- Successful completion of an ACGME accredited dermatology residency training program
- Must be cleared for privileges by Medical Staff Services by start of employment
- Board certification or board eligibility by the American Board of Dermatology and to obtain Board Certification by the American Board of Dermatology within two (2) years of starting employment
- Experience with comedone extraction, cutaneous grafts, simple and complex closures, simple and complex excisions, subcutaneous tissue biopsy or excision, skin abscess, suture removal, preparation, and interpretation of KOH, Tzanck prep, scabies prep, hair prep
- Working knowledge of third-party billing and coding standards
- Experience in medical and procedural dermatology
- Experience in laser surgery and dermatological surgery
- Experience in subspecialty dermatological clinics including but not limited to Dermatopathology, Pediatric Dermatology, or MOHS surgery
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics
Knowledge of modem principles, practices and techniques of dermatology medicine, equipment, instruments and materials used in procedures relating to the specialty
Ability to diagnose medical or surgical problems and to prescribe treatment for conditions arising within their subspecialty; establish and maintain effective working relationships with lay and professional employees and colleagues; express oneself clearly and concisely, orally and in writing; participate in the activities and educational programs appropriate to the specialty

Physical and Environmental Demands
This position is functioning within a healthcare environment. The incumbent is responsible for adherence to all hospital and department specific safety requirements. This includes but is not limited to the following policies and procedures: complying with Personal Protective Equipment requirements, hand washing and sanitizing practices, complying with department specific engineering and work practice controls and any other work area safety precautions as specified by hospital wide policy and departmental procedures.

Must successfully meet the credentialing standards established by the Cook County Health and Hospitals System to include a State of Illinois MD license and any other license, certification, or specialized training, etc. no later than two (2) weeks prior to the candidate's start date
