UNC Health is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Pediatric Intensivist to join our Pediatric Intensive Care team on a per diem basis. This role provides clinical coverage in a multidisciplinary PICU setting, caring for critically ill infants, children, and adolescents.
Responsibilities:
Provide high-quality, evidence-based care to pediatric patients in the PICU
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team, including nursing, respiratory therapy, and consulting services
Supervise and support trainees and advanced practice providers as applicable
Participate in handoffs, care coordination, and documentation in the electronic medical record
Adhere to institutional policies, clinical guidelines, and patient safety standards
Qualifications:
MD or DO degree
Fellowship Training in Pediatric Critical Care
Board certified or board eligible in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine
Eligibility for medical licensure in the practicing state
Current BLS and PALS certification (ACLS as required)
Strong clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills
Schedule & Coverage:
Per diem coverage based on departmental needs
Flexible scheduling, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required
