WakeMed Physician Practices, a leading multi?specialty medical group with more than 500 physicians, NP/PA, is seeking Board?Eligible/Board?Certified Hematology & Medical Oncology physicians, with particular interest in malignant hematology, to join our rapidly expanding oncology program in Raleigh, North Carolina.

As part of our oncology service line, you will join a collegial team of 8 physicians and 14 NP/PA professionals practicing within a system that prioritizes quality, patient-centered care, and multidisciplinary collaboration. Position Highlights We are seeking motivated physicians with fellowship training in Hematology and Medical Oncology, ideally with a focus or strong interest in malignant hematology. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment working closely with: Hematopathologists, Surgical subspecialists, Radiation oncology, Primary care and referring providers, Clinical research partners. Clinical Focus of the malignant hematology physician will manage: Lymphoma, Multiple Myeloma, Myelodysplastic Syndromes (MDS), Myeloproliferative Neoplasms (MPN).
WakeMed delivers evidence-based, standard-of-care therapies across the continuum of hematologic malignancies. The system is actively developing both an acute leukemia program as well as step-up and inpatient protocols for bispecific antibody therapy. We also host a well-attended monthly malignant hematology case conference, led by our malignant hematologist and joined by hematopathologists, medical oncologists/hematologists, and hematology/oncology NP/PA providers to review complex cases and align on best practices. WakeMed maintains a robust referral base from both WakeMed-employed and independent community physicians.
The WakeMed Physician is responsible for providing quality clinical care to patients cared for by their division. The Physician may be responsible for providing teaching and supervision to residents, medical students and/or APP?s within their division. The Physician is responsible for appropriate coding and corporate compliance and may be responsible for some general administrative responsibilities of the practice. Physician reports directly to the Director of their assigned division and understands and supports the mission values, and management of WakeMed.
