Indiana University Health and IU School of Medicine are seeking full-time faculty surgeons to join our rapidly growing Pediatric Otolaryngology Division at Riley Children’s Health at Indiana University Health. The primary practice location will be at the 400-bed tertiary care Riley Hospital for Children located on the academic campus in downtown Indianapolis. Consistently ranked as one of the nation’s top hospitals, Riley Hospital for Children is the only freestanding children’s hospital in the state of Indiana. Additional clinical effort will include the Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health North Hospital located in suburban Carmel, Indiana.
Riley Children's Health is honored to be recognized as Indiana's best children's hospital and ranked among the top children’s hospitals in the country by U.S. News & World Report in all 11 pediatric specialties. Through enduring collaborations with the Indiana University School of Medicine, Riley at IU Health is ranked sixth in the nation for NIH research funding, receiving over $44.2 million in 2024 to support pediatric studies.
Our pediatric practice is staffed by??four fellowship-trained Pediatric Otolaryngologists and??seven Advanced Practice Providers. The clinical practice covers the spectrum of Pediatric Otolaryngology including aerodigestive and complex airway disorders (including an aerodigestive multidisciplinary clinic), sleep surgery, head and neck masses/congenital malformations, rhinology, craniofacial disorders, laryngology, vascular anomalies, and otology including a well-established cochlear implant program.
Responsibilities include participation in a broad pediatric otolaryngology practice, teaching residents and medical students, and participating in scholarly activities. Candidates must be BE/BC and fellowship-trained in Pediatric Otolaryngology. Opportunities for significant protected research time for candidates who would be interested in pursuing extramural funding.
The successful applicants will join the Indiana University School of Medicine Department of Otolaryngology—Head and Neck Surgery, a nationally recognized team of more than 35 faculty physicians and researchers. The department also includes a growing number of advanced practice providers and supports four residents and multiple clinical fellows annually across subspecialties. IU School of Medicine offers the only otolaryngology residency in Indiana and ranks 8th nationally in NIH funding among otolaryngology departments.
